Sustainability in Danish companies

Troldtekt’s acoustic panels are produced using just three ingredients: cement, water and red spruce (wood) — a recipe that hasn’t changed since 1935. Red spruce is highly renewable and the cement is made of sand and chalk, sourced locally in Denmark.
Troldtekt accounts for a high proportion of red spruce produced here in Denmark. This has given them strong influence, which they use to push red spruce suppliers in a more sustainable direction, e.g. by demanding they qualify their spruce with certifications.
KALK produces lime paint in 600 colours for indoor and outdoor use. Their lime paint is free of microplastics, toxins and additives, and is said to improve the indoor climate. This has brought in several sustainability prizes and the title of world’s first cradle-to-cradle certified lime paint.
